Dante is an Animal character from Disney Pixar's animated film, Coco (2017).
He is a Xoloitzcuintli, also known as a Mexican hairless dog. Dante is initially depicted as a stray dog in the Land of the Living, constantly hungry and bothersome to Miguel.
Despite his initially disheveled and goofy appearance, Dante plays a significant role in the story. He acts as a spirit guide for Miguel and, due to his breed's connection to the spirit world, he is able to cross between the Land of the Living and the Land of the Dead. Dante eventually gains alebrije wings and becomes Miguel's spirit guide in the Land of the Dead.
